“This Block Dock is made from aluminium and is powder-coated in hardwearing, long-lasting paint. Just give it a clean in the shower with your finger from time to time and you’re done. It doesn’t get easier than that. Better to keep it out of the dishwasher – anyway, that takes much longer!

It’s light as a feather so great for taking on the road, across the sea or up in the air. Including the suction cup, this Block Dock weighs less than 30 grams!

This Block Dock vertical soap dish is Wide size. It fits bars up to 4cm in depth – the shortest side of your bar.  If your bar is extra wide, long or heavy it’s easier to use and lasts longer if cut in two.

A suction cup comes with each Block Dock to enable wall mounting. It WILL adhere to glass, acrylic, vitreous china, steel, most smooth tiles, and mirror. It will NOT adhere to textured tiles, paint etc because the suction cup cannot form the vacuum it needs to work.”

A konjac sponge is a natural sponge made from the fibrous ‘konnyaku’ root vegetable of Japanese origin. It comes from the same family as the humble potato, and is commonly consumed as food (Konjac noodles, or as a kind of solid jelly-like vegetable marinated in various sauces) in Japan.

It is however also dried, ground, and mixed with water to form a paste, then calcium hydroxide is added (To make it alkaline). This mixture is then heated to solidify it, frozen overnight, then dried slowly to evaporate the water.

These sponges are:

• Vegan
• Made from a vegetable!
• Compostable
• They gently cleanse and exfoliate the skin
• Said to help remove blackheads, oil, and dead skin cells

How do I use it?

You simply submerge the sponge in water, or hold it under running water. Then gently squeeze it until it softens. This takes a few minutes.

Wipe it gently over your face & body. You can use it with just water as the konjac plant has natural cleansing properties. Alternatively, use it with your favourite soap/body wash.

Each time you use it, just squeeze it a few times under water to rehydrate it.

How do I store it?

Each konjac body sponge comes with a string attached to it. Use this string to hang it somewhere away from direct sunshine, and away from humidity. Therefore, if you’re bathroom is damp and humid you may want to hang it somewhere else.

To keep it hygienic you should disinfect it every fortnight in hot (not boiling) water for 5 minutes.

You’ll know when it’s time to replace it as it’ll start to disintegrate, or it won’t expand properly. This is roughly every 2-3 months.

Which colour do I choose?

1. Aloe Vera – Anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, recommended for acne prone skin
2. Bamboo Charcoal – Anti-bacterial, suitable for sensitive skin, recommended for acne prone skin
3. Rose – Anti-bacterial, recommended for dry or sensitive skin

How do you use it?

Simply put the bar of soap into hot water and shake. It works better if you do this under running water. It works best when you use the soap shaker.

How do I store it?

As with any soap bar it should be kept as dry as possible between uses. If using soap on its own, store it on a free draining soap dish. However, if you’re using the soap shaker, you can hang it up to dry.

What’s in it?

This is a really basic recipe that contains simply coconut oil, distilled water, and sodium hydroxide. And when the soap is fully cured there’s no trace of the sodium hydroxide.
