Natural Conditioning Spray
I’m going to make a broad sweeping generalization and say that most children dislike having their hair washed, combed, or brushed. So, what do you do? They don’t like sitting still for long either I hear you say. Don’t worry, I’m with you!
Spray and Leave
I’ve been trying this on the smallest member of the Balmy tribe (As she has the longest hair). After a couple of months, I can now call this a huge success! She even calls it ‘My special spray’. It probably helps that I added vanilla oil, and she happens to love that smell.
As she’s only 6 she needs me to spray it in for her. So all I do is lift her hair a bit and spray 3 sprays sporadically around her head, then leave it on for 5 minutes before combing. Job done.
Is It oily?
Yes, a little. Essentially, this spray is just natural oils or argan and jojoba mixed with distilled water. Therefore, you don’t want to use too much as it’s a ‘leave in’ conditioner. It doesn’t take much to be effective. And if you’re like our house, we wash the kids hair twice a week. Obviously we’re all different in this regard, which is fine, just letting you know what our routine looks like.
It’s a trial and error process. Use a little, leave it in, and see how that works for you. Perhaps next time add one more spray. It really depends on the hair as to how much you use. (We spray little Miss 5’s hair 3 times).
What’s In It?
There are six ingredients in this spray:
- Distilled water
- Jojoba oil
- Organic argan oil
- Essential/fragrance oil
- Vitamin e
- Liquid germall plus (Preservative)
That’s it! Simple, yet effective. Give it a try. What is there to lose? It helped to end the hair brushing battle in our house, so perhaps it’ll do the same for you.
